Terms and Conditions of Stereos Training and Development Centre

1. Course Registration and Access

  • Registration: Your registration is only confirmed once full payment is received. Courses are for the registered student’s use only and may not be transferred or shared without written permission.

  • Account: You are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining the confidentiality of your login. You agree that only you will access the course materials using your account.

2. Payment and Fees

  • Payment Method: Course fees must be paid in advance (in South African Rand) via our approved payment gateway (PayFast). Payment instructions will be provided at registration. Payment is due before access to any course content is granted.

  • Confirmation: You will receive an email confirmation once your payment has cleared. No access to course materials or scheduling of practical classes will occur until payment is successfully processed.

  • Non-Refundable Fees: All course fees are final and non-refundable once payment is made. This means that after you have paid and enrolled, you cannot claim a refund (subject only to the narrow exceptions below). In particular, no refund or credit will be given for partial attendance, withdrawn registration, failure to complete the course, or inability to use the online system (e.g., due to your internet issues).

  • Cancellation by Us: If Stereos Training must cancel a course for any reason, you will be offered a full refund of fees paid or credit toward an alternative course. In all other cases (including any technical or “force majeure” event), fees remain due in full. As in ECD training terms, force majeure claims will not entitle the student to cancel or refund.

3. Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • Cooling-Off Period: Where applicable under the Consumer Protection Act (68 of 2008), you may have a 1-business-day “cooling-off” right after an online enrolment made off-premises. This is the only legal exception to our no-refund policy. Outside any such statutory period, all fees are final.

  • Withdrawal: If you withdraw or fail to complete the course after the cooling-off period (or if that period does not apply), you will not be entitled to any refund or credit. We do not refund registration fees once access is granted.

  • No Partial Credits: There are no partial credits or prorated refunds for incomplete courses. You are expected to complete the entire course once enrolled.

4. Course Completion and Certification

  • Completion Requirements: You must complete all required lessons, activities, assessments, and any practical classes to be eligible for the course certificate. Certain modules may have minimum pass marks; you must meet these thresholds to advance and graduate.

  • Full Payment Required: No certificate, diploma, or formal recognition will be issued until all course fees are fully paid and cleared. This means you cannot receive any certificate or official record of completion if payment is outstanding or was reversed.

  • Certificate Issuance: Once you meet all course requirements and have paid in full, we will issue your certificate (typically digitally). We reserve the right to verify your compliance (e.g. identity checks, anti-plagiarism measures) before releasing any credential.

5. Intellectual Property and Use of Materials

  • Ownership: All course materials (including text, slides, videos, quizzes, and recordings) are the exclusive intellectual property of Stereos Training and Development Centre. They are copyright‑protected and licensed to you for your personal educational use only.

  • Restrictions: You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, rent, share, or create derivative works from any course materials without our written consent. Recording lectures, copying slides, or sharing answers is strictly prohibited. Any unauthorized use or distribution may result in legal action.

  • Use of Technology: You may not upload the materials to any public site or repackage the content for sale. Use our content only to complete your own studies, not to train others or resell.

6. Student Conduct and Academic Integrity

  • Professional Conduct: You agree to act respectfully and ethically in all interactions. Harassment, hate speech, or any unlawful activity on our platform or during in-person sessions is prohibited.

  • Academic Honesty: Use of unauthorized assistance on assignments (including plagiarism or use of AI/chatbots to generate answers) is strictly forbidden. Any form of academic dishonesty (copying, cheating, or using AI to do your work) will lead to immediate suspension or expulsion from the course without refund. We reserve the right to use software to detect dishonesty and to enforce penalties.

  • Zoom/In-Person Rules: For live Zoom classes or on-site workshops, you must follow the rules of the session (mute/unmute appropriately, no recording unless permitted, etc.). Unauthorized recording or distribution of live sessions is not allowed. We may monitor or record live sessions for security and quality purposes.

7. Technical Requirements and Third-Party Platforms

  • Student Responsibility: You must have reliable internet access and suitable devices/software (computer/tablet, web browser, Zoom app, etc.) to participate. We are not responsible for issues arising from your hardware, internet service, or local network.

  • Platform Availability: We use an online learning platform and Zoom for some classes. While we strive for uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance or unexpected outages may occur.

  • Security: You are responsible for the security of your account. We cannot guarantee protection against hacking. You must immediately notify us if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. You release us from liability for any losses caused by your account being compromised or by misuse of passwords.

8. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

  • Use at Your Own Risk: Your participation in the course is at your own risk. We make no warranties about job placements, earnings, or other outcomes from course completion.

  • Technical Issues: Stereos Training is not liable for any damage, loss, or inconvenience resulting from technical failures or cyber-attacks. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, site downtime, or any error in processing your registration or payment. For example, if our website is hacked and your payment is intercepted or not received, we are not legally responsible to refund or provide credit—you remain responsible for full payment.

  • Max Liability: To the extent permitted by law, our total liability (if any) in any dispute related to these Terms will not exceed the total course fees you paid.

  • Force Majeure: Events beyond our control (e.g. natural disasters, war, epidemics, or major internet outages) do not entitle you to cancel or refund your enrollment. We will attempt to resume services as soon as practicable.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to amend or update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website with the effective date. Your continued use of our courses after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

By registering for or accessing any course, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
